area red cross volunteers. >> after the pounding sandy last on the east coast, and two million still without power, comes relief from the bay area. >> so far we had quite a few cash donations. >> reporter: farmers markets in san bruno and oakland are accepting donations of money going straight to the red cross. >> people seem to be responsive and generous. >> reporter: volunteers leave today, driving a truck all of the way to new york. bringel has done this before -- pringle has done this before. >> providing supplies to the clients and getting around a will be difficult. >> reporter: this is mike's first trip to a dissaster. >> when i get to new york i will check in, contact my point of contact and get an assignment. >> reporter: it is simple. shelter

damage nearby and arrested a 30- year-old for dui and hit and run. no word on the pedestrian's condition. the demolition of an 8 story building in walnut creek could create major traffic problems this week. several areas will be closed at 7:00 a.m. and detours in place and drivers should expect delays. the work should be completed by thanksgiving. a rescue off the coast of marin. why they are calling it a lucky break. >> another milestone for the 49er's stadium. what crews will begin tomorrow. they will help the project take shape ,,,,,,

the coast guard says the pee were aboard a 24- foot boatn it capsized at the mouth ofe seven people, including three children, were rescued today. they were aboard a 24 foot boat when it capsized at the mouth of the bay. five people held on to the overturned boat and two others were trapped under neither. the people outside of the boat were rescued by helicoptered. the rest were rescued when the boat was towed ashore. nobody wore a life jacket.

the trial of a former san jose principal. charged with failing to report former teacher, chandler, for sexual abuse. he was charge inside january and charged with committing lewd acts on a 2nd grader. construction of the new 49er stadium will hit another milestone next week. crews will begin installing the first of two concrete sections. concrete used for the risers and walls and 10,000 steps for seating. the framework is already 60% complete. >> and tomorrow is the last day for struggling bay area homeowners to get had help with their mortgagees. the neighborhood association is holding the mortgage relief and approvals program for people needing help. there are strict qualifications but the free event will wrap up
